Lomakin, Oleg Leonidovich (Russian), b. 1924

Born in Krasny, Kholm, Tver pr., 1924. Studied in studio of Palace of Pioneers, Leningrad, 1930s; at Leningrad Intermediate Art School until 1942, 1944-c. 1946 (military service 1942-44: wounded); at Repin Institute until 1952. Active in Leningrad. Began exhibiting 1949. Important shows include “Soviet Russia”, Moscow, 1960. Specialised in portraits, genre works, with strong portrait element. Leading Leningrad realist 1950s-60s.
