Sen'kin, Sergey Yakovlevich (Russian), b. 1894

Born in Pekrovskoe-Stresknevo, Moscow pr.,1894. Studied at Moscow College of Printing Sculpture and Architecture 1914-15; Moscow Free art Studios/VKhutemas 1918-19, c. 1920-21. Active in Moscow (in Vitebsk, Belorussia, 1921). Member of LEF from 1923; Oktyabr from 1928 (founder member). Exhibited with Oktyabr 1930. Important shows include "Anti-Imperialist Exhibition", Moscow, 1931; "Artists of the Russian Federation over Fifteen years", Moscow, 1933. Also a graphic artist, exhibition designer. Decorated festivals in Moscow. Avant-gardist.; organised studio of "new practical realism" with G.G Klutsis; influenced by Constructivism. Died in Moscow 1963.
