Markin, Vitalii Alexandrovich (Russian), b. 1924

Vitalii Alexandrovich Markin. Born in 1924 at the river Don in the Middle-Tzimlianski region. Entered the Leningrad Conservatory in 1940. Fought in the Great Patriotic war 1941-45. Graduated from Rostov-on-Don Art College and in 1962 from the Moscow Polygraphical Institute. Started exhibiting in 1950. His work embraced graphic art (linocuts, lithography), watercolor, gouache, tempera, posters and bill-boards as well as oil on canvas and oil on board.
